Live streaming baseball games is about more than how many home runs your team scores. People watching the game have to absorb a lot of information. Finding the right baseball scoreboard online and adding a great baseball overlay can help put you in the major leagues of sports streaming.
We’re sure we don’t have to pitch the benefits of live streaming a baseball game. This beloved pastime is followed by fans not just across your country, but also around the world. Reaching more fans has never been easier than today, with several streaming platforms available – from YouTube to Facebook to sports-specific platforms that serve different regions. For example, pro tier platform Recast helps manage pricing, distribution, and boost audience reach and potential revenue.
Adding a baseball overlay helps your viewers keep up with the key action of the game – which team is winning the inning, which batter is about to rake in four home runs, and which pitcher is making the best (or worst) decisions.
If you’re used to manual scorecards and baseball scoreboards, don’t worry about striking out with a virtual one. Here’s a quick guide on online baseball scoreboards, featuring some of our favorite overlays.
A baseball scoreboard online isn’t too different from a manual scoreboard. A baseball overlay usually displays runs, hits, and errors, as well as other useful information to tell you why your favorite team is winning or losing.
On some baseball overlays, the innings are lined up in a table at the bottom lower third of a baseball live stream – similar to a real-life scoreboard.
For example, in our Baseball Box Scoreboard, the visiting team’s innings will be displayed on the top, and the home team at the bottom.
An advantage of setting up a baseball scoreboard is that it can be customized over and over again to display any team logo – and auto calculate total runs. You can also display the number of balls and strikes for the current batter to help you understand the pitcher’s control and effectiveness – as well as how much pressure your batter is under not to strike out.
For other online baseball scoreboard overlays, each inning can be marked by a number with an arrow pointing – up for top half of the innings, and down for the bottom half. So for example, an upward arrow next to a 5 indicates the top of the fifth inning.
Our baseball scorebugs also show runners on base by illuminating different parts of the diamond. This tells your viewers if there are players on the first, second and third bases.
We’re using our Champion-themed Baseball Scorebug here.
With this handy bit of visual data, viewers get a sneak peek to the batter’s decision making, as well as the pressure on the pitcher and fielding team. If all three bases are lit up, you might be about to see four home runs!
Uno’s online baseball scorebugs come in several different layouts to suit your live sports stream. Our Stealth-themed Baseball Scorebug has fun animated elements to add a little extra style to your next baseball live stream.
A baseball overlay can be more than just a scoreboard. Talk defense positions before the game begins and break down the profiles of each player – their weaknesses, their strengths, and their performance over the season.
